Matt Batten

Matt Batten 32nd Round Pick to Major League Player Matt Batten is living proof that hard work, dedication, and a little bit of luck can take you far.

Batten was originally a 32nd-round pick out of Quinnipiac University in the 2017 Major League Baseball Draft. After being drafted, Batten made the commitment to work hard and make it to the big leagues, and this past summer, he did just that. This June, Batten’s contract was selected by the San Diego Padres where he spent 58 days in the big leagues this year. He still remains on their 40-man roster. Batten’s journey to the big leagues began even before he was drafted in his hometown of Shelton, Connecticut. At Technique Tigers Baseball Academy Batten worked on perfecting his skills and honing his craft to prepare for the next level. At Quinnipiac University, Batten is the All-Time hits leader. He continued to work on his strength and conditioning to make sure he was ready for the rigors of professional baseball. Batten credits much of his success to the Technique Tigers Baseball Academy. He believes that the Academy helped him become the player he is today and helped him reach his goal of playing in the Major Leagues.
